Journey to a different world

As always, with dynamic writing duo Karpov Kinrade, we are introduced to a world that is different from what we're used to. Sometimes the differences are small, but other times they are immense. This is one of those stories. We are drawn into a foreign world, with sometimes difficult names to remember, but those names belong to memorable characters. As with all of their characters, we learn to care about their fate and their well-being. It's one of the things that I can always count on from Karpov Kinrade. I won't rehash the plot, since all of the other reviewers tend to do that. I will just give my most sincere recommendation to anyone who has not yet read one of their books, or who is interested in journeying to a new and magical world.

Things are not always what they seem....

I will admit I was a little lost in the beginning of this short novella. There was no backstory; you are just there, on the ship with “Sev,” the main character of this story. He is a dark and mysterious passenger who bought his passage on a whale-ship because he knows it will bring him to the ship he is truly after.
A recluse, “Sev” appears to make everyone including the captain nervous because he stays aloof. He covers his hair and hands so that they will not truly know what he is, that is until he is ready for them to truly comprehend how dangerous he really is. That time is coming.
When “Sev’s” ship comes under attack by the Rakam, their ship is badly damaged and in dire need of repairs. Luckily, another ship happens to be passing through and sees that they are in distress and offers their assistance. How wonderful right?
Things are not always what they seem and therein lays the plot twist. “Sev” is in truth Dak’Ra, a very powerful being, and with the help of his Drakruu (think Dragon , heck yeahh!) are about to bring it! I cannot spoil things and tell you why, read the story, it is worth it.
I will say that I did truly enjoy this short story. I am looking forward to the next installment in this series. I need to know if Dak’Ra finds what he seeks. Nice novella.

Unique and Amazing !

Wow. It took me a minute to understand fully. This is the first book of the genre i have read and I was caught not wanting to put it down. It drew me in because of the uniqueness of the story. I haven't quite read anything like it and want to read more on this series. I truly enjoy it. I love these to authors and have read all of their books and they always surprise me. This team Karpov Kinrade are truly talented writing from paranormal to erotic to epic and urban fantasy. Amazing team! This is a short quick read and can't wait for more.
Dak'Ra is at sea & hiding who he is, searching for the love of his life La'Kia and the ship & man that took her the black Kiasheen. In the process of trying to find the ship, the ship he is on is attacked my the Rakaam. Loosing a lot of men a ship comes to their aide. But it isn't what it seems. He has to reveal who he is, A Stonebearer. "Tell all you see that Dak'Ra still lives. Tell them he comes for the Black Kiasheen" that was my favorite line of the book.
I want to say a lot more but i don't want to give away the book. I recommend for everyone. Its very unique and i believe you will enjoy the start to this series. It will leave you wanting more. I know I do. Karpov Kinrade pulls off another amazing story.
