A book I couldn't put down!

Once, again, Melissa Schroeder has written a book that I lost sleep over. One of the things I loved about this one is that BOTH of the lead characters, male and female, are Marines. I haven't read many stories where the author gives us the military side of things from a woman's POV. In this case, she is the one with PTSD.

Dante Santini comes from a family of Marines and when he first meets Madison Baker his competitive side tells him to dislike this Marine that gives him a run for his money in most competitions. Dante and Madison, from outward appearances, are bitter enemies. It isn't until years later that Dante runs into Madison, again, and realizes his attraction to her. When her life is endangered because of something she sees, Dante's protective instincts kick in and his true feelings become more evident, to him anyway. He wants to protect her but knows that the Marine in her won't willingly ask for help.

Can Dante protect Madison? Can he convince her to let him protect her? Most importantly, can he convince her that she is not broken and is worthy of love?

I really loved this book, I feel in love with the Santini's from the very beginning of the first book..... I was so glad, to hear that Dante Santini got his own book.... You will fall in love with Him and Madison they are the perfect couple.. Sparks fly and there is action, this is a very good great you must get it...... I love all the books written by Ms. Schroeder, you will too, she is a great writer she hooks you with her books... I feel like the Santini's and the Johnson's are part of my family you will too..... There is just something special about how she writes her books. You will fall in love from the very first book and page....

I loved it and was surprised by the ending.Madison is Dante's twin sister Elena's best friend from the Academy where she and Dante were always one upping each other. When they meet again Madison is suffering PTSD and feels she is damaged but Dante has always seen something special in her.She witnesses a murder and runs to Dante however the police can find nothing & think due to her PTSD she made it up.What follows is a Santini falling for the Santini curse and a surprise murderer I never saw coming.I was hooked from the beginning and shocked at the end.You can never go wrong with a Santini book

A beautiful and fun way to learn about Chinese New Year

I love the illustrations and narrative of this book. It's a rare find amongst a sea of books attempting, but failing, to capture the spirit of this special, cultural event. Most books on the subject are patronizing, offensive, or downright inaccurate. This one is not. I like details, such as the photo of the ancestors on the table with the fruit and flowers--a tasteful way to display Chinese ancestral worship, not just during the new year celebrations. I like the Chinese astrology wheel at the back of the book and the 'make your own dragon puppet' how-to instructions. Those extra touches were a special bonus.

Great fun!

I bought this book for a pre-K to K aged storytime I lead, and it was a great way to introduce Chinese New Year to the kids. It was even more fun to read alone with my own preschooler, as she could lift the flaps herself (always a bonus)! The rhyming text makes it fun to read, as the story follows a family getting ready for Chinese new Year. Includes a Chinese Zodiac wheel and instructions for making a dragon puppet.

This book just perfect for introducing your child to the Chinese New Year and a perfect place to start! My daughter loves lifting the flaps on each page and is the begining of her learning all about her Chinese Heritage! I only wish it where a lot in board book form!

Good follow up reading to the first book

This was a good follow-up on the Messages from Michael and I liked the continuation of the conversational style. But without further investigation into the teachings, I think some of the references to the roles and overleaves will be over the heads of some, like it was for me at times. Sometimes I felt as if I just walked into the middle of a private conversation or the punchline of a joke. This is not the book to begin with if one is first starting out in learning about this teaching but is a good compliment with the first book.

You will have difficulty enjoying this without having read the first Michael book. This is more a continuation of the examples that were presented toward the end of the first Michael book. It is interesting but I wish I had purchased the next in the series.....that's for later, I guess

The Michael books are among the best.

Chelsea Quinn Yarbro's Michael books (Messages from Michael, More Messages from Michael, Michael's People, and Michael for the Millennium) are among the best examples of "channeled" wisdom. They are similar in some ways to the "Course in Miracles", the Seth books of Jane Roberts, and several other such bodies of work dictated to mortal human beings by disincarnate teachers. The source of the wisdom in "Messages from Michael" and its sequels is a supposed integrated causal plane spiritual entity who borrows the name "Michael" from its last-incarnated individual human soul fragment. Each such entity, according to Michael, comprises about 1,000 such fragments or souls.

Michael describes a system by which all human souls, themselves fragments of some causal plane entity similar to the Michael entity, are cast into existence by the Tao; and how each soul fragment has as many physical incarnations as it takes for the fragment "to experience all of life", that is, to absorb all of the wisdom that life is designed to give to each of us. Each fragment is cast in one of seven "roles in essence" which it retains throughout its evolutionary path. For each incarnation it may choose a different set of "overleaves", characteristics that will profoundly color the fragment's personality and the kind of experiences it is likely to have in that particular life. Michael describes in lucid detail the system of overleaves, giving plenty of examples of how they work together to create a particular kind of life experience. Michael also describes the major life lessons ("monads") that each fragment must complete and the workings of karma.

The number 7 pervades the system that Michael describes. There are 7 roles in essence, 7 modes, 7 goals, 7 centers, 7 soul ages, 7 levels within each soal age, etc. It is not an arbitrary number. When the complete system is delineated you can see that it appears to be comprehensive. When you consider the 7 roles in essence described by Michael, it is very hard to imagine there being an 8th role or only 6 roles. Seven seems to cover it exactly.

The Michael teachings will not give you all of the wisdom you need for a fulfilling life, but when you are ready for them they can help you form a more coherent picture of why you are here and how everything fits together.

And, as Michael says, "Belief is not required."

As I've met Bill in person, I can hear him saying MANY of the statements in this book. Bill is a TRADING JEDI and anything he has to say I am more than willing to read/listen.

This book will not likely TEACH you anything you haven't heard before, but it will keep you on course if you're really a trader.
